We have been so blessed, with help from our family, friends and many others helping support our dream to keep our son’s fight alive by donating to pineoblastoma research. At the beginning of 2019, the University of Louisville Men’s Basketball program honored our son in their Coaches Against Cancer campaign by making Jaxen’s Journey shoes, which were auctioned off for a generous donation towards research. In May, we were blessed to be invited to the Dick Vitale Jimmy V Foundation event in Florida and met so many people in the same fight. Mr. Vitale is doing great things and raised over $4 million dollars toward pediatric cancer research in one weekend alone! In July, Jaxen’s Journey was honored to receive a pediatric donation from the Jimmy V Foundation, Louisville Chapter, with $5,000 dollars. Then came our annual golf tournament in August…… where so many showed support and came out to golf and raise money and awareness for Jaxen’s fight and the need to help others going through the same. During this event, we raised $30,000 dollars, all of which was donated to pineoblastoma research. We have one more check going out tomorrow for $10,000 towards the research we are funding, totaling $40,000 dollars this year! This research we are funding is going to clinical trial in 2020. We are so grateful that we have found a wonderful team to help us fight pineoblastoma at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Updates on the research can be found in our blog at www.jaxensjourney.com
